Stacy Ann Givens
Stacy is my second child born on a beautiful spring Saturday March 2, 1973. She was very quiet and calm before she was born. I think she slept the whole nine months storing up all her energy so she could investigate the world. When she was born she had blonde hair so light she looked bald with the most beautiful peach colored complexion. For her trip home from the hospital she wore a soft peach colored sleeper that seemed to blend in with her complexion. Stacy was my mischievous little tomboy. She was wide awake before dawn and always looking for something to investigate. How she made it through life with no broken bones is a great mystery to me. It was nothing for me to find her in the top of the tallest tree or falling out of one scaring me to death. She loved to run, play and talk.
Stacy was my little story teller. She learned to do this trying to stay out of trouble. She came up with some really good ones. We lived across the road from my mothers first cousin John Anglin. My children played with his daughter and one day they came in with Linda Anglin crying. She showed us this bad bite in the middle of Linda's back and said Stacy did it. John called five year old Stacy in and ask who bit Linda? Stacy calmly said, "She bit herself."
Stacy grew out of her biting stage after getting into lots of trouble over it. John teased her a lot saying she cut her teeth by using our arms as teething rings. Stacy grew into a beautiful young woman with a smile and laughter that is soft and warm.
She continues to be a bit mischievous but she has a very warm heart that sometimes she neglects to follow. Stacy loves music, dancing and laughing. I don't get to spend as much time with Stacy as I do with the others and I miss her laughter tremendously. This is my second born daughter. |
