Come on in and meet my granddaughter,

Katarina La'Na

Katarina has a February birthday. It was a brisk but sunny winter day when Katie arrived. Her sister was born just ten days before her third birthday and their Mom was so worried that she would not be able to have a party for Katie. But somehow she manage to put together a great birthday party.

Katie was a gift from the moment she was born. One day when Katie was about two she and her mother came to visit. Mandy ran out to the store while Katie and Cassie were eating. At one point Katie began giving me these little signs. She had me totally confused. Mandy walked back in the door and began laughing at me. Mandy had been working with children of special needs and Katie was allowed to go to work with her mother. Katie had learned sign language from some of the children and she was signing that she wanted more food. We began to realize Katie was smarter than the average bear.

Katie was in encore classes which required her attending another school for a few hours on certain days. I would pick her up and drive her back to her school. She would always jump in my car and begin giving me the quiz they had in encore. Needless to say the brain cells my grandchildren inherited did not come from their Nana. We would laugh all the way back to her school. Katie and Ally are both very intelligent girls with a warm caring heart mixed in.

Katiebug is also a great little dancer performing
at TPAC for several years. She has a great gift
of the arts and she loves it in all forms.

That is my Katiebug
