Charles & Bonnie Parrish Smith, about 1966

This This page is for Bonnie and Charles. I have always said Charles was in the family before I was. Bonnie said the family didn't know Charles family until after I was born but I can remember Charles and his brother Don coming to our house when I was about three or four. They were friends with Odell and Joe Dell.

I am sure Charles felt he gained an instant family when he married my sister. Well actually before he married her. Bonnie was my security blanket and I wanted to be where she was at night. When Charles and Bonnie started dating I always wanted to go. Every now and again Bonnie would say "Honey not this time." I remember I would go stand at the corner of the house and cry. Charles would come over and lead me to the car. Yes I had it made and I want to go back to those days:)

To have Charles as a brother is a gift. He loves to laugh and everyone loves him. He use to get me down and tickle me until I couldn't breathe. I remember one time Daddy, Charles and I think Odell went fishing and Daddy wouldn't let me go because the last time I wouldn't be still. I cried and Charles told me that just he and I would go fishing the next week. He worked nights so you know he has to be a loving person. The next week he brought Bonnie over to do laundry. He carried me fishing. We caught little fish and put them in a bucket. When we grew tired, we counted them, put them back in the pond and we went home happy. That is not a brother-in-law...that is a brother:)

When Charles and Bonnie got married I stayed with them as much as possible. Charles worked at night so Bonnie and I would pop popcorn and watch t.v. together.  It was always fun at their house. My heart will always hold a special place for them. I had no idea when I was young how lucky I was but I have thought a lot about it as an adult. They may think I don't remember them putting up with me but I remember.

Terry Lynn Smith & Cherry Ann Smith

Charles and Bonnie had Terry Lynn July 23, 1968. Look at him...he is so cute. I loved to kiss on those cheeks. Then Cherry Ann came along February 13, 1970. Charles and Bonnie let me stay with them a couple of weeks after Cherry was born and baby sit. I got into trouble because I rocked Cherry all the time.

Drew Smith, son of Terry & Patty, Daughter Shannon Smith

Drew is my little sweetheart. I haven't been around them much and it makes me sad. But at a family gathering he walked up to me and motioned for me to bend down. He surprised me by kissing me on the cheek and giving me a warm hug. That made my day and is the kind of memories you never forget. Shannon is a little beautiful butterfly. She makes you want to hug her but she is too busy:) Nick was Daddy and Mom's first great grandchild. He is precious. Several years ago we all met at Mousetail Park. When we walked up to the cemetery I was having a hard time because of my old hip. Little Nick was so interested in his family buried there. He stayed with me asking me questions and he went around taking photos for me. Nick I am making a page to put those photos on. Thank you for helping your Aunt:)
